Help & Frequently Asked Questions
Continue where you left off, then keep a memory of what you made.
Progress and saving
How do I continue after leaving the app?
Version 1.1 or later: return to the folding tab and tap Continue Folding to resume the lotus shown on Home. If other work is in progress, tap the progress message below it and choose the mode to continue.
Version 1.0: on Home, tap Continue for the mode you were using. When several modes have unfinished work, the others appear under Other Progress.
Progress is saved automatically. If the app says it has not been saved, tap Retry and wait for success before closing the app.
I finished folding. Why is my lotus missing from My Lotuses?
After finishing, open View & Save and tap Save Lotus. My Lotuses shows only lotuses you have saved.
After changing a wish, save your changes again. If you see You have unsaved changes, review your lotus and tap Save Changes.
Will starting another lotus erase my previous work?
Starting a new lotus in the same mode replaces that mode’s progress and wish after the confirmation flow. Lotuses already saved in My Lotuses and progress in other modes are kept.
To keep your current lotus, finish and save it before starting another.
What should I do if saving or loading fails?
Tap Retry, Retry Saving or Retry Loading Progress on screen. If saving fails, wait for a successful retry before closing the app.
If loading fails, retry loading before starting a new lotus that could replace your progress. Do not delete the app to troubleshoot, as this removes its data from the device.
The furnace and offering memories
How do I offer a lotus in the furnace?
Version 1.1 or later: open Offering Furnace, select the saved lotuses you want to offer, then enter the room. Guide the active lotus toward the opening and release. If you selected several lotuses, the next one moves into place after the current offering is accepted and saved.
If the lotus does not enter, it returns to the table so you can try again.
Version 1.0: in My Lotuses, tap Go to Furnace to offer saved lotuses one after another. Once an offering is saved, the next lotus moves into place.
Does a lotus disappear after it is offered?
After a successful offering, the lotus stays in My Lotuses as an offering memory. It cannot be offered again, edited or deleted within the app.
What if saving fails after the lotus enters the furnace?
Tap Retry Saving as shown on screen. This saves the same offering record again; you do not need to drag the lotus a second time.
The next lotus appears only after the record is saved. Check that the error has cleared before continuing.
Paper purchases and restores
Do I need to buy paper?
Gold paper and the core folding, saving and offering features are free. Supported versions, starting with 1.1, offer five optional paper styles. Check the app for availability; each available style is a separate one-time purchase that permanently unlocks it. There is no subscription or charge per lotus. Select a style in the Paper tab to see its local price before buying. After purchase, choose Use for my next lotus. Existing saved lotuses and drafts keep their original paper.
How do I restore paper I bought?
After reinstalling or changing phones, use the Apple Account that made the purchase and open Paper > Manage > Restore purchases. Restoring paper access does not restore folding progress or creations; those depend on your device backup.
Sounds
What if I cannot hear any sound?
Tap the speaker at the top to open Sounds. Check that playback is on and the app volume is above zero. Then check your iPhone volume, silent setting and headphone connection.
After disconnecting headphones or opening the official chanting page, return to the app and tap Play to resume.
Can music play offline?
Background music and dedication tracks work offline. The Official Chanting Page opens an external website and requires an internet connection.
Data and changing phones
Do I need an account? Will my data sync to a new phone?
You do not need a separate Lotus Wishes account. Lotus Wishes does not provide cross-device syncing. Depending on your settings, data may be saved and restored through iCloud or computer backups.
Before changing phones, check your backup settings and whether your latest backup is complete. Read more in Backups and changing phones.
Why is there still a draft on Home after I delete a lotus?
Your collection and drafts are stored separately. Deleting a saved lotus that has not been offered does not clear the wish or progress in that mode’s draft.
Starting a new lotus in the same mode replaces that draft after you complete the confirmation flow. Offered memories cannot be deleted within the app.
How do I change the language?
Find Lotus Wishes in your iPhone Settings and choose a language. The app supports Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English. Names and wishes you enter stay exactly as you wrote them.
Need more help?
When you email us, we use the contact details and problem description you provide to reply and help resolve the issue.
When reporting a problem, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, the step you reached and any error message. In version 1.1 or later, find these under Paper > Manage > About Lotus Wishes. In version 1.0, open About Lotus Wishes on Home.
You do not need to send your complete lotus or wish. If you attach a screenshot, you can cover names and private details first.
